What it does
ExtractYouTube is a new site that not only allows you to download YouTube videos but also allows you to search for YouTube videos all from the same page. To download a video, either copy the YouTube URL of the video and paste it into the provided box or, search by keyword just like you would on YouTube and download your video. A number of sites allow you to download YouTube videos but this might be the only one that allows you to search for them on the same site which is infinitely more practical than having to first search for the video on YouTube, copy the link, and then go to a different page to download the video. Also provided on the page is a list of most popular videos which could be handy given that if the video is being downloaded a lot, it must be good.
In their own words
“ExtractYouTube.com is a free YouTube video downloader which helps you find and download video from YouTube easily.”
Why it might be a killer
As mentioned above, the ability to search for the video you’d like to download from the same site make this a useful tool that could become popular amongst those who want to download YouTube videos.
Some questions
Will the Google ads on the site be enough to make this a profitable venture? Do they have plans to add more functionality to further distinguish this site from the many competing solutions?

What it does
HitLinkz is an online tool that allows users to search for links related to their favorite topics. This site searches for popular sites, as well as sites that are not so well known. HitLinkz attempts to provide only quality and relevant information. Users can choose to search popular categories, such as file sharing services and how to videos, or they may conduct their own search based on their own criteria. Users can save the retrieved links in their own HitList, making them available for future reference whenever desired. Furthermore, once users are signed in, they have the ability to suggest new links and vote on currently posted ones.
In their own words
“HitLinkz is an online utility that aspires to be your one-stop place on the internet for all your link needs. HitLinkz strives to answer 2 basic questions of, ‘what are the famous links for, let's say, sharing photos online?’ and ‘what are all my favorite links for, let's say, sharing photos online?’ HitLinkz provides its users with a comprehensive list of categories and links across those categories. Users can recommend new categories to be covered by HitLinkz and can recommend appropriate links to those categories. Other users vote on the links to make it to the HitList, which is a list of Top 10 links for that category. HitLinkz strongly believes that by letting the users decide whether a link is a Hit or Miss it truly can bring to the audience (users) the links that are famous and appropriate at a given time.”
Why it might be a killer
HitLinkz is built on a logical concept of filtering out the irrelevant search suggestions, and concentrating on the ones that count. The site should be developed a bit more, both graphically, and in terms of information. More categories with more listing would broaden the scope of the site.
Some questions
What design changes can be made to the site? How may more links be tracked? What additional benefits may the HitList offer?

What it does
Katapulco is a search engine aggregator that allows you to select which engine you’d like to use depending on what you are searching for. A number of similar sites have appeared on the scene recently but Katapulco distinguishes itself by allowing you to select your engine by keyword. When you arrive at Katapulco.com, you will see a box to enter your query and another box next to it where you enter the one or two character shortcut for the engine of your choice. 70+ engines are listed on the right side of the page by category along with their corresponding keyword, making it simple to look up the keyword for your search. Search aggregators are being developed for a reason, and that is because different engines are better for different queries and Katapulco’s shortcut approach makes it one of the more convenient solutions on the scene.
In their own words
“Don't use the mouse! Search using keyboard shortcuts with Katapulco!”
Why it might be a killer
The listing of the 70+ engines is done in such a way as to make it simple to look up the engine and plug the shortcut into the bar. This is much easier than having to scroll through a list of different engines since everything you need is right in front of you. This could become a really popular site for any kind of search.
Some questions
Have they considered allowing you to search multiple engines at the same time by including two shortcut boxes? It would be great to be able to search for video on YouTube and Google at the same time for example.

What it does
If you have one or more websites, then you will know that there are few things worse than having your site go down. Instead of obsessing and sitting in front of your computer 24-7 just checking to make sure that your sites are up, why not check out a service like Pingability which can monitor all of your sites for you and notify you by email, phone, or SMS when they go down? Pingability can check the status of your site as many times per day as you choose and it can give you detailed reports on your site’s uptime. Along with taking care of your site, Pingability can also monitor your email server, DNS, FTP, or any port that you specify on a server. There are various pricing options which start with a free trial account, which is co-branded and requires that you place a Pingability link on your site.
In their own words
“Do you want a good uptime on your servers? The Pingability service monitors your servers (including web page checks, and email server checks). We can alert you if the server goes down so you can respond rapidly.”
Why it might be a killer
This is a great service and it is competitively priced. Who wouldn’t prefer automating their site’s monitoring instead of having to physically check that it is always up?
Some questions
A quick Google query brought back several pages of similar companies, all offering the same type of service and many for the same or better price. What can they do to distinguish themselves from the competition? Do they have any current enterprise partners who would be willing to include their endorsement right on the website?

Why it might be a killer
Wine is big business nowadays and it is currently enjoying a spike in interest. WineChatr provides a site for wine lovers to share their knowledge and find new wines while allowing business to promote their brands.
Some questions
Currently, the wine reviews are not organized by the rating they have received making it very difficult to separate good from bad. Have they considered changing this so that wines rise and fall on the list based on the reviews they have received?
