What it does
TrackMyPeople is a free program for Windows and Linux that allows managers to easily track their time and their employees’ time. It helps managers and other administrators to compare totals, project time, and employees’ attendance. The program is web-based and therefore accessible from anywhere, and password-protection and automatic backups keep the data collected secure. A manager can easily track their employees’ time spent on a project or just analyze a graph for optimization. You can even install a personal widget on each users desktop, for inputting time data directly. The graphs produced by TrackMyPeople are visually attractive and present a large amount of data in a concise, intuitive format, and are quite customizable.
In their own words
"TrackMyPeople allows you to easily track your time, as well as your employees time, from multiple locations. At the same time offering flexible management and reporting possibilities."
Why it might be a killer
Since this tool is web-based, managers can access it from anywhere, which could be very helpful for companies with multiple offices or managers who work from home, travel a lot, or for whatever other reason are not always at their desk.
Some questions
Since this program is free, how does the site plan to make a profit? Will a Macintosh-compatible version be released?
